Our story
Aussie Prop Notes was founded in Sydney in 2022 to solve a problem every Australian production knew too well: prop money either came from overseas marketplaces with unpredictable quality and slow shipping, or it simply didn't hold up on camera. Notes printed for the US or UK market read wrong on an Australian set the moment they're in frame — wrong colours, wrong size, wrong texture under lighting. We built a local alternative instead: offset-printed, matte-finished Australian-style prop notes designed for modern 4K and 8K sensors, stocked in Sydney and dispatched within one business day.
Milestones
- 2022 — Founded in Sydney; first full-print AUD prop note line launched, covering the $20, $50 and $100 denominations most requested for Australian sets.
- 2023 — Added aged and distressed finishing for period and gritty-realism work, plus the money stack and briefcase bundles built for reveal and table-spread shots.
- 2024 — Expanded into photography-specific formats (flat-lay sets, 1:6 scale miniatures), event props (money guns, photo booth packs) and custom branded notes for productions needing a fictional bank or logo.

How we print
Every note starts as a reduced-scale reproduction, printed on matte stock so it doesn't reflect studio lighting or camera flash the way glossy paper does. Denominations are clearly marked as props on the design itself, and we never replicate the security features found on genuine Australian currency — no clear windows, no holograms, no UV-reactive ink. That combination is what keeps a note legal under the Crimes (Currency) Act 1981 and the RBA's reproduction guidelines while still reading convincingly in a wide shot or a close-up wallet insert. Aged finishes are applied by hand — creasing, edge-wear and tone-shifting — for productions that need circulated-looking cash rather than crisp fresh notes.

Everywhere in Australia. Free shipping on orders over $500 AUD, flat $20 AUD under that. Most metro orders arrive within 1–3 business days of dispatch, and every payment method — crypto, bank transfer or PayID — earns a 10% discount when paid in crypto.
How ordering works
Browse the full range or a single category, add what you need to the cart, and check out via the order form or WhatsApp — whichever is faster for your production timeline. We confirm stock and send payment details within one business day; crypto payments are invoiced with the 10% discount already applied, and bank transfer or PayID orders are confirmed once payment clears. Custom and branded runs get a printed proof before production starts, so nothing prints until you've signed off on the design.
